    Andy could you let us know the following;
    Based on a Council that ‘prides’ itself on equality how many dog fines and litter fines were issued?
    What was the total cost of the clean up and why should residents have to pay?

    I agree with the views but need to point out that the traveller site in Wrexham on Ruthin Road is actually nearly always full with those who have made their home there as it is a fixed plot site. The site is not designed for transient travellers.
    The Council have on numerous occasions put forward locations for an additional site in line with WG guidance but as you can appreciate NIMBY comes in — not in my back yard.
    A number of other County Council have still not met the basic requirement of one site.
    The legal process of eviction can only work at the speed the court operates with the issuing of enforcement notices- seems strange 48 hours have elapsed when lots of private landowners get to eviction point in 24.

    The Council has a duty to carry out a needs assessment, which highlights whether the travellers have any welfare issues, such as pregnancy or ill health prior to any eviction taking place.

    Perhaps Andy the Councillor should red this and ask officers in the Council which action they have commenced.

    Wrexham Councils history on branding projects is not good. Under the leadership of the previous Chief Executive a project was designed ‘Brand Wrexham’. A group of various representatives from the area — Barry Jones Editor of Wrexham Leader, Glyndwr, Yale College , Business sector came together under the direction of a team of design and brand consultants who were being paid aprox £24k — this turned out to be for a ‘concept’ as like most consultants they never give you fully what you want they always want secondary contract- second one was for aprox £16k to come up with logos and other designs.

    What happened was Council decoded they did not like the proposals and yet another report was buried under the carpet.

    Questions were asked by the members of the group and the only answer was ‘We didn’t like what they produced so we are now going to do it ourselves.’

    Artgrad sorry you feel that people are getting on the bandwagon- I have expressed strong reservation about this project in the past which has been based on the financial model which has so many ifs and buts that unless the Council find about £100k a year to subsidise the project above what they already pay in for the Oriel then keeping the doors open after 12 months will be a huge struggle. What services are they going to cut to fund what could be come the biggest artistic white elephant in the UK

    This project needs local community ownership which is why I said about involving people from Glyndwr and Colleg Cambria. As an art graduate now in Wrexham have you had any input, been asked or offered to support the project.

    We have a brilliant group of artists and designers in Coleg Cambria and Glyndwr why not use our own home grown talent and give them a financial prize towards their studies.

    Well National Elections are over it is time for Andrew Atkinson to get down to doing what he has been elected for and being paid to do since since May being a Local Councillor– I wonder if he will give a months salary to charity as all his time for a month has been his election campaigning yet being paid as a Wrexham Councillor!!!!!

    Lets see now that he is on the Council if he is going to make a difference — he has spouted so much about what needs to happen in town and the problem over drugs yet his new boss on the Council fellow Conservative Hugh Jones has not found the solutions so how is Superman Atkinson going to make any difference.

    Looking at the AA Facebook after the election he seems to have some prominent Town centre people behind him that seem to think he will make a difference- time will tell.

    The starting point is he has to put Party Politics aside and start talking with the town MP – Ian Lucas – (it works both ways and Ian Lucas needs to be more receptive as well- a Town Centre Forum meeting is not the place for trying to score brownie points for Andrew Atkinson, Ian Lucas, Dana Davies and Hugh Jones — they all need to grow up and talk to each other if there is to be any change and just stop scoring personal points against each other- the image you portray in meetings is as negative as those who hang out in Lord Street
