Good to see the Council no longer spend hundreds of thousands of pounds ( over £140,000 in 08/09 ) on job averts and use their own website instead. A pity that they are still legally required to place statutory notices in the printed media when the majority of people are more likely to read them on line. Time for the law to catch up with reality. At last the printed Connect Magazine is to go, or is it? A few printed ? How many and at what cost?

Hidden behind the reduction in job adverts is the dramatic reduction in the number of jibs available as the first form of recruitment is internal or redeployment. Very few jibs unless specialist actually get advertised.
Total workforce is down by a good few hundred since 08/09
