So pleased to hear the Council is going to improve the town signage. I hope they are using the opportunity to look at other towns to see what they have in place.
The classic finger signs have a place in the conservation area of the town, but I’m sure many of us have seen the modern looking signage in other towns. For instance, the sign at the end of Hope Street where it meets High Street – it looks dated in style, never mind the content. The upright type of monolith sign is much more modern, information on it can be up dated as things change in town. They can contain maps, historical information etc. There is plenty of room to put all the information bi-lingually.

It’s an opportunity to start to change the town image.

I look forward to the day when Wrexham finally has some signs welcoming people to the town. Wrexham has been here for over a thousand years, you think someone would have managed to put one up by now!! Even Broughton and Caia Park have welcome signs!!

Some consistency behind “Welcome to Wrexham” signs would be good too. A right random mess. This one is the best; a “Welcome to Wrexham County Borough” sign… in the centre of town… several miles from the county borough border.

Then there’s this dismal attempt. Certainly these should be at every A and B road into town, at the settlement limit?
