    From today’s story:

Commenting on the appointment, Chris Pole, director at KPMG and joint administrator, said: “The business suffered significant losses in the wake of the recession which was exacerbated by the general challenging conditions facing the licensed trade”.

    From September article:

The team behind Central Station in Wrexham have launched a brand new live music venue in Chester.

Over the the next six weeks to turn the former Comedy Club into a multi- room venue, which will accommodate 650 in the main room, with an balcony and VIP area’s, and 300 in the smaller room.

    Seems a little odd?

This is terrible news, Wrexham doesn’t have another venue like Central Station. They have attracted some good bands on there in recent times, bands which would not have played here otherwise. Hope everything possible will be done to keep it open.

I wondered when they opened the live rooms in Chester would it be the beginning of the end for Central Station. Hopefully the potential new owner will continue to get a wide variation of bands to the venue, if not there is nothing in Wrexham that can get well known bands to the town. The William aston hall does not have any kind of bands that Central Station can attract. It’ll mean people will have to travel out to see rock bands, thankfully the Tivoli in Buckley are having some excellent bands there at the moment, which is not too long of a drive from Wrexham, however it would be a great shame if Central Station did not continue.

In light of current news, we’re conducting a survey to find out what the people of Wrexham are looking for in terms of licensed venues.
Please take 2 minutes to fill out this quick survey with your valuable opinions.
The answers are anonymous, and results will be compiled into a market research package as part of a business plan for a possible new venue in Wrexham.
    Thanks for reading :)

Hi and welcome to the forums, may I ask exactly how this information is to be used? (your description is a little bit vague!).

Doesn’t matter, done survey anyway. Best of luck with whatever it is you are looking into. Hopefully it can tie in somehow with ensuring that Central Station remains open, it’s a great venue.
