Negotiations are still ongoing to decide who will control Wrexham Council for the next five years.

Speaking to Wrexham.com Labour Leader Cllr Neil Rogers said: “Talks are still ongoing as far as the running of the council is concerned. Last week we said we weren’t going to rush into it as we want what’s best for Wrexham and I stand by that.”

However, from speaking to several other sources we understand that Labour are currently in talks with an Independents group led by Cllr Mark Pritchard.

Many have speculated that Cllr Pritchard will become Deputy Council Leader with Cllr Rogers as Leader of a Labour led coalition.

From last Thursday’s local elections Labour won 23 seats in Wrexham falling just short of the 27 needed for an overall majority.
