Motorists who ignore road closed signage and drive through flood water are being warned that they could receive a Traffic Offence Report.

It is the second time in a week that drivers have been reminded to pay attention to signage in the Bangor-on-Dee area – parts of which remain flooded after the recent heavy rainfall.

At the time police said that motorists were causing additional “flooding and further issues” by driving through the way.

However over the weekend there have been reports of some drivers ignoring the road closures and attempting to drive through the flood water.

NWP Wrexham Rural say: “The A525 Cross Lanes to Bangor on Dee and the B5426 (Straight Mile) from Plassey Roundabout to A525 are closed for a reason. Do not attempt to drive through flood water.

“Anyone found to be ignoring the very clear signage will be issued with a Traffic Offence Report.

“Do not ignore the closure signs. Road are closed for a reason.”

As Wrexham.com readers will have seen on Twitter last night, one motorcyclist had to be rescued from floodwater on Bangor-on-Dee.
