That part of the road has a lot of trees which can cause ice, leaves and other slippery surfaces such as green moss to be present when other areas don’t have it. Put that together with the ghost stories of a young lady stepping out in front of approaching vehicles….

Last night their was an accident in Rhostyllen, and I have seen eye witness twitter feeds regarding what went on. Sounds like it was down to a driver making a bad decision.

So the wonderful idea Wrexham Council had to reduce the speed on the main road the Rhostyllen from 40 to 30 was obviously a waste of time regarding road safety as their have been several accidents in the years since, its simply a way of raising funds catching someone doing over 30. If they really wanted to slow the people down who allegedly (past news reports) drive at 90+ through the village, they could have added a roundabout by the shops and at the end of Esless Park to ease congestion and reduce the chance of excessive speed. If people drove with their eyes open, their lights on at dawn / dusk, not using a phone while driving then maybe it would not matter if the speed limit on a road was 30/40 or 50/70?
