Multiple armed police units stop car on A483 slip road

Update: We are told the slip road has reopened. There is no further detail on the incident as of yet.

The A483 southbound Ruthin Road slip road is closed after a ‘hard stop’ of a BMW by armed police this evening.

Matt took the above image of the scene of the incident that occurred around 6:30pm.

Sophie-Jade took a video of the incident, that saw at least one man arrested at gun point with his hands above his head.

Emma told us: “Bloody hell BMW crashed at Coedpoeth slip road heading to Rhos and 4-5 armed response police guns drawn!”

Nathan said police were pointing their weapons at a man inside the BMW, with Tom telling us it appears a spike strip was deployed.

David said: ” I was on the slip road when they caught him. The copper deployed the stinger right next to my car. The BMW tried to reverse and go the wrong way down the A483 but was boxed in by the cops behind.”

Josh sent us the below video, saying: “4 police X5s came on to the A483 at Rossett. Badman in the grey BMW overtook me at around the Gresford junction. Guess they must have been waiting for him.”
