Dedicated parents trek Moel Famau to support Gwenfro Valley Adventure Playground
A group of dedicated parents from Caia Park have trekked up Moel Famau to help raise vital funds for the Gwenfro Valley Adventure Playground.
The popular facility, in Queensway, has been open for over 15 years and is a staffed free to use, open access playground.
It provides a wide range of experiences for children and teenagers. The playground has swings, sand, a den building area, fire pit and offers much more for children to play, build, create and be themselves.
It boasts a vibrant community of parents committed to providing enriching experiences for their children.
On Friday 26 April the Gwenfro Valley Parent Steering Group rallied together to take part in a fundraiser to help support the ongoing costs and maintenance of the adventure playground.
So far the group have raised over £500 through sponsorship for the walk.
Gareth Venn, assistant manager: “We are so grateful to the parent steering group.
“They have worked hard to raise funds for the playground over many years now.
“It’s their support and recognition of how important Gwenfro Valley is for the community that has helped keep the playground running.
“They do a huge amount for the local children and support putting on numerous events throughout the year, which are free for the community to come to.”
Funds raised through the sponsored walk will directly benefit Gwenfro Valley Adventure Playground, contributing to the summer party for the community and ongoing building work.
