Understand Mike…Wrexham.com isn’t important and knocking on doors is. And bubble agree that responding on Wrexham.com means nothing unless you have received a leaflet or actually met the candidate.

Regarding what you hear on the door step and whether leaflets have been delivered on the wrong ward. The electorate will vote for who they vote for, whether that is a Labour candidate, Conservative, Independent or whoever. As stated many times I’m not a Labour voter historically, but see them as the best option in Wrexham this time. Nationally…not sure but will use my vote against the Tories.

Locally I want a candidate that is honest, doesn’t electioneer and who is hard working. im sure if you fit this and as you say knocking on doors and speaking to people, active in the ward etc then you may be successful. 4th of May we will all see the results, some people will be happy others not so happy.

Your choice Mike, although I think what Wrexham.com have done this time is exceptional with the questions. It gives the electorate a view of who the various candidates are and also whether they have the knowledge and experience or if you like the ideas to help resolve the issues in Wrexham. You say that only a few people read Wrexham.com in your ward. I think it may be more than that but it is certainly your choice.

Only a few post on here but many thousands have read the profiles and answers to the questions. I think they posted that over 40k hits had been made.

Anyway good luck, although I do very much hope for a Labour led council. Thanks for the replies.

Oh! Mike, are you in a position to answer the question. Noticed your profile has been done but not the questions. Would be interested to read your responses. With your profile showing FBU etc interested to read your solutions.
Another thing. Some existing councillors who do write a profile, just say that they have been on this or that committee etc. Well, councillors are expected to sit on various committees, it goes with the job.

They don’t always say what they have actually achieved or campaigned for.

You make a valid point Mike.

So in your ward….what events and activities have you actively participated in? You mention baby care unit, the fire engine. Anything in your actual ward? So do you attend and support all the events. Just wondering.

Labour’s Dana Davies…great response to questions in my opinion. I keep saying I’m biased but this lady would be a great Council leader.
Personally believe that this has been called 12 months too early for the Conservatives. I think or hope Labour retain Wrexham and Clwyd South. As a past Conservative voter I would now rather walk on glass than vote for them. The under funding and covert privatisation of the NHS, austerity cuts whilst maintaining fat cat bonuses etc. Etc. But we will see what the people of Wrexham want.

Can’t understand your logic, it’s the Welsh LABOUR Government who been cutting funds to the NHS. They’ve been in power in Wales for 18 years and it’s still a mess.
We won’t mention that the Welsh settlement from Central Government has been cut. The Conservative Government!

This would have a direct impact on all Welsh Government budgets including the NHS in Wales. However the Welsh Government from my understanding has maintained/slightly increased the percentage of their settlement spent on the NHS. So I throw this back in your direction and say…..who is killing the NHS? But you keep being blinded like I once was. Tories are killing the NHS. The impacts seen at local government, NHS etc. Are directly linked to the reduction in the settlement from this Thatcher clone led regime.

And I used to vote Tory……for 30 years. No more!

Interesting read Benjamin, although still very reluctant I do like what Mr Corbyn is saying. My fear is that the Conservatives backed by the media will continue to portray a very weak leader. There is substance to his speeches and we do need change.

Having researched the arguments such as the continuous lies about who put is in so much debt etc. The statistics show that the Conservatives historically have been poor governments when it comes to the economy and that Labour have been a safer pair of hands. The only thing that could be put at Labours feet is that they were caught out by the banking crash, which all governments were. Google it…I encourage people to check it out. Obviously we know the Internet can be manipulated but there are good sites with great research using accurate figures.

I know that come June we will still be under a Conservative majority but I pray that it is a reduced one. The ramifications for all of us if it increases is unthinkable. Mrs Theresa May reminds me so much of Thatcher. I voted Conservatives for years, blinded but no more.

Serious question from a voter who locally will vote for my Labour candidate but nationally still not entirely convinced.

Is Jeremy Corbyn a victim of a media who portray him as a half wit unable to galvanise his party?

    Or

Is he actually just trying to offer a complete polar opposite to the Conservatives but his message is falling short because of people’s impression gathered from the media?

Or…is he actually that unpopular and lives up to the media portrayal?

Will the polls be right or will there be a shock? Very interesting.

As my bias shows Conde I hope so. I must say if you are as engaged on The door step as you are on Wrexham.com then I am sure you will be getting positive feedback. Nothing worse than a candidate that instantly goes on the offensive when either asked a difficult question or faced with a negative statement.
