Tennis courts and skate parks in Wrexham are amongst the sporting facilities to have reopened today.

Wrexham Council has also confirmed that its bowling greens and angling are now once again available for use.

All of these facilities have been closed since the end of March when lockdown restrictions were first introduced.

In line with Welsh Government lifting restrictions there will be rules that must be adhered to for everyone’s safety; all of these will be sign posted around these facilities.

However all buildings related to these sites will remain closed until further notice.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We’re very pleased to be reopening these facilities today, but we ask everyone to make sure they use them responsibly.

“Each facility has strict rules that are clearly signposted and we must make sure we all stick to them.

“We all have hobbies that we’ve missed over the past months, so now we’re able to start doing some of these things again, please don’t do anything that will jeopardise the progress we’ve made in Wrexham. Please stay safe.”
