Police are urging dog owners to keep their pets on a lead around livestock after a sheep was attacked.

The incident took place on land owned by Rhos Farm, Rhosllanerchrugog some time between Monday 4 and Friday 9 September

One ewe was attacked and received puncture wounds to its neck area along with an injury to stomach area.

Officers in NWP Rural’s Crime Team are urging owners to keep their dogs on a lead when walking through farmland and near livestock in adjoining fields.

A police spokesperson said: “Despite livestock attacks being reported recently by Police and via mainstream and social media another attack has occurred on land owned by Rhos farm.

“One ewe has been attacked and received puncture wounds to its neck area along with an injury to stomach area.

“Anyone with information that can assist with enquiries is asked to contact NWP and quote 23000868522.

“Dog owners are again asked to ensure their dogs are kept on a lead when walking through farmland and near livestock in adjoining fields even if there is a public footpath.”
