The local Health Board has issued an unusual warning this evening, asking people ‘to choose the most appropriate place to access care and support at this time’.

Tonight Ian Donnelly, Integrated Health Care Director of Operations (East), said: “Our Emergency Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital is very busy at present and at this time people may face extremely long waits.

“We would urge people to choose the most appropriate place to access care and support at this time to help avoid any delays and also to ensure our specialist emergency services are available for those who need them most.”

The Health Board are pointing people to this page on their site for further information on accessing local health services.

The current live data for Wrexham says there are 114 people currently in the “A&E” department, with a 2 hours typical time. That is described as ‘busier than usual’.
