Local hospice, Nightingale House, is seeking pubs to join their Big Christmas Quiz, with the aim of raising funds for their new Inpatient Unit.

Hospice Fundraiser Chloe Deacon explained the fundraising initiative: “We’re sending invitations to pubs, social groups, and sports teams across our community, encouraging them to organise their own charity Quiz Night in support of Nightingale House Hospice. We will supply the questions—all our supporters need to provide is a venue, participants, and a great atmosphere. By hosting a Quiz Night, they automatically qualify for our Big Xmas Quiz competition. Winning teams will be invited to a ‘Finalists’ Quiz Night hosted right here at the hospice, where they’ll have the chance to vie for the prestigious Wrexham Lager trophy.”

The Big Xmas Quiz event sponsors Wrexham Lager stated, “Wrexham Lager is extremely proud to sponsor this year’s Nightingale House ‘Big Christmas Quiz’ campaign. A special series of local Quiz Nights, which will bring together quiz-heads, social clubs, and general pub-goers from right across our community for some great, Christmassy fun! All while raising much-needed funds for our wonderful local hospice… Fantastic!”

Another regular Nightingale House supporter, The Sun Trevor, hosts regular quiz nights in support of their local hospice. Maggie, who runs the quiz at the Sun Trevor in Llangollen, said, “As a ‘Quiz Master,’ I thoroughly enjoy putting together a challenging competition each week; I learn so much. We have regular local teams who have become good friends, and many visiting teams. Winners and losers enjoy the evenings. Our venue, a local pub, is busy, which is important during difficult times for hospitality. Quizzers are so generous when they know we are raising money for Nightingale House Hospice.”
