The Council need to realise that the Memorial Hall is not their building but it is a Charity and the Council are only custodians. Over the years the Council have mismanaged and not even complied with the Charity Commission by submitting annual returns. They need to get the community on board to see what ideas can come out.

Councilor X – basic economics income must equal expenditure, for many years this has not been the case. The Council have mismanaged for a number of years as show with penalty notices issued by the Charity Commission due to not submitting accounts – sometimes by as much as three years over due. Lack of investment and engagement with the broader community to set up Trustees. At present although a Charity the Council is the sole Trustee. This is an iconic site that means so much for military veterans and their families and should be preserved at all costs.
