Statement from Charles Dodman

We invited them to tell you a little about who they are, any political history and about their political leanings.

Dear Resident,
Many of you will know me from Smithy View Service Station where I work. I am a qualified Accountant and I promise to use my skills to give you not only lower Council Tax Bills but also improved Public Services.
My Political History:
Conservative Party up until 2010 then I joined UKIP which lead to the Brexit Party and now Reform UK
of which Nigel Farage is President and Richard Tice is our leader.

Questions & Answers

1. What are the three biggest issues for your ward, how do you think they need to be resolved, and what will you do to achieve it?

Say No to Town Hall Fat Cat pay rises.Say Yes to better Public Services at lower cost providing better value for the Council Taxpayer.Say Yes to safer cleaner streets.I promise to stand up for the people and make sure their voice is heard.

2. What do you think needs to be done to help Wrexham recover from the pandemic and what hands-on-role can you play as a councillor ?

Covid 19 was nothing more than a bad seasonal Flu. In 2020 and 2021 total deaths from all causes were 1% of the population which is entirely normal. There was no pandemic just a PCR Test pandemic, a test which was totally unfit for purpose recording up to 97% false-positive results. Dr. Cary Mullis the inventor of the PCR Test said it should never be used to detect an infectious disease yet this is exactly the purpose it was used for. Statistics were manipulated to record nearly every death as a Covid death. Total deaths from all causes stayed much the same as previous years. There was no spike in deaths. The whole thing became a money making jamboree for Boris Johnson and his Cronies. The whole thing was very damaging to small businesses and to people's mental health It caused many to lose their jobs. We must make sure this does not happen again. Lockdowns don't work. they just cause pain and suffering. We must do everything we can to help ordinary people and small businesses to recover from this.

3. As a councillor you may have the chance to take on further roles eg. Lead Member, Audit, Scrutiny. What appeals to you and what skills do you bring to that role?

I am very keen to have additional roles where I can bring my skills as a businessman and a Chartered Accountant to benefit all the Council Tax payers of Wrexham.

4. What do the words climate emergency mean to you and your ward?

I am very keen on Environmental Issues, clean air and water, protection of the Rainforests and animal and plant species, overfishing, and plastic pollution are all important subjects to me. There is no Climate Emergency (According to Sky News and BBC News there has been a 1.5-degree centigrade temperature increase since the year 1880 which is 142 years ago) but there is an environmental emergency exacerbated by the Government Policy of putting Bio-Fuels in petrol and diesel. The Rainforests are being cut down to grow sugar to create alcohol to be put in Unleaded Petrol and also Palm Oil to be put in Diesel. Government Policy is destroying the Rainforest not protecting them. Climate Alarmism is being used to make money and further the political agenda of the World Economic Forum (Klaus Schwab and the Great Reset) / United Nations Agenda 21. I am a firm believer in Climate Change. The Climate has always changed and will continue to change. We have had Ice Ages in the past and now we are in an interglacial warm period.Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant it is as natural as the water we drink. We would not have any food without it. Plants carry out Photosynthesis taking Carbon Dioxide out of the air plus sunlight and water creating our food. Large Greenhouse growers actually put extra Carbon Dioxide into the air to make the Crops grow faster. If there should be any Climate Change then the best thing is to adapt to it. On average over a year Singapore is 20 degree Centigrade warmer than Helsinki but people get on ok in both Cities. Adapting is the only way forward we don’t need expensive solutions.

5. What is the biggest thing you would have done differently from the ruling administration over the last 5 years? (Or, if you were part of the Administration - what would you have done differently?)

I would not have "Locked down" it caused great harm to the local economy and to people's mental health. There were several States in the USA that did not Lockdown and the outcomes were better than those that did. Sweden did not lockdown and did not suffer the consequences. We should have heeded the advice of more than 80,000 Doctors that signed the Great Barrington Declaration. They said to protect the elderly and vulnerable and let everyone else get on with their lives as normal.

6. Local health pressures are well documented, from delayed ambulances to issues in the hospital. How can the council help resolve those problems?

I will do everything I can to improve Medical Services. Real action needs to be taken to speed up appointments and treatment. The local people deserve a lot better.Just about every politician pays lip service to the issues of waiting times at Wrexham Maelor Hospital but I am the only one who petitioned the Welsh Government about the unacceptable waiting times at the Accident and Emergency at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. My petition was read out on several different occasions and I watched it on the Web-cam.

7. What will you do on a local level to help support people in your ward affected by the cost of living crisis?

It is a rip-off Britain. Utilities cost far less on the Continent. Reform UK will renationalize utility companies, making them 50% taxpayer-owned and 50% British pension fund-owned. We will approve of shale gas exploration so we no longer rely on Putin and Macron for our energy. It is a national disgrace that more and more people are relying on food banks. They have been grossly let down by the political class.

8. How would you improve the local education system?

Lower class sizes. Constant appraisal of teachers' performance.Pay teachers well and only retain the best. Our Children are our future they deserve the best.Zero tolerance of School Bullying.

9. When the public view the Full Council meeting in June, do you envision you could be part of a Party, Group or coalition, and if so, specifically who and why?

Reform UK Councillors are whip-free, which means they can vote on matters that concern you and the community without interference from the party.

10. This is a noteworthy election with 16 and 17 year olds now able to vote, what have you done to engage this new electorate and what do you think is the biggest issue for them locally ?

They must get every help possible to ensure a good education leading to a well-paid job so they can plan their future. We must do everything possible to attract businesses and industry to Wrexham to provide worthwhile jobs.
