A man has died after falling from a bridge on the A483 near Chirk this morning.

North Wales Police received a call at 11.15am today that a man had fallen from a bridge on the A483 near Chirk.

The A483 towards Chirk was temporarily currently closed off this morning following reports of a serious incident on the A483 at Pentre near Chirk.

Emergency services attended the incident and the road reopened shortly after 12:45pm this afternoon.

The road was closed in both directions at the A5 ( Halton Roundabout) and A539 J1 ( Ruabon), causing queuing traffic down the bypass. However traffic was diverted from the area.

Inspector Andy Jones said: “I can confirm that the man who fell from the bridge on the A483 at Pentre near Chirk this morning was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner will be informed.”
