Yesterday we reported on the terse Football Association ‘statement’ that indicated that things were still ongoing in the deal to takeover Wrexham FC.

This morning sources revealed to Wrexham.com that the paperwork that was lodged with the Football Association has been passed to the Football Conference.

As outlined previously, the deal was awaiting the ‘rubber stamp’ from the FA and the Conference has indicated that they will also highly likely to agree with whatever the FA decide.

Todays news is not confirmation of the proverbial rubber stamp being applied to the paperwork, however if paperwork has been passed to the Conference it is an indication that the ratifying of the deal is at the latter stages.

The source went on to explain they expect a statement this coming week ‘once it is all confirmed’.

League leaders Wrexham FC are away today at Braintree in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
