A number of areas around Wrexham woke up to snow this morning less than a week after the town experienced a mini heatwave.

Our followers reported snow in Bwlchgwyn, Coedpoeth, Brymbo, Cefn Mawr, Ponciau and Brynteg, snow also fell on lower grounds however didn’t stick.

Council gritters were out in force to prevent any road closures, however the Horseshoe Pass in Llangollen fell victim to the cold weather and has been closed today.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning for snow for North Wales with 2-5cm expected in areas above 200m.

Wrexham FC centre back Mark Creighton struggled to get into training at Colliers Park near Gresford due to snow on the A5104.

Keep an eye on our @wrexham twitter account as we update the weather conditions – and last night we predicted snow twice and were right inside a window of 10mins!

Above and below are some pictures of the icy conditions sent in by @wrexham followers.
