Wrexham Thieves Go Postal After Postbox Stolen Near Llay

Thieves in Wrexham have quite literally gone postal after stealing a post box and making off with the door of another in two rural areas of the town.

The thieves first struck sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning Jwhen they lifted a pillar box off its pedestal at the junction of Gresford Road and Forest Road near LLay.

The the second incident the door was taken off a post box on Croeshowell Lane, Burton. In this incident the mail was not taken.

Police believe the thieves my try to sell the post box and door over the internet.

Inspector Nick Evans for Wrexham Rural said: “I would urge anyone being offered one for sale to report it and if anyone should see suspicious activity around post boxes, especially at night, to call the police.”
