A not-for-profit organisation in Wrexham will host its first toy and game swap this weekend.

Lle Hapus, on Eagles Meadow, run by the trustees of Wrexham Clothing Exchange is to host a ‘Toy and Game Exchange’ this Saturday, 11 AM until 2 PM.

The event named, “Wrexham Toy and Game Exchange” is being organised by two volunteers of the Clothing Exchange, Alison, and Zia.

Parents, Alison & Zia came to the conclusion that there was a need for a toy and games exchange, just like there is for a clothing one.

Alison explained: “At this time, parents are struggling with an increase in the cost of living, they can’t afford to spend as much and at the same, perfectly good toys and games are ending in landfill.

“Why not help to solve both issues by having a Toy and Game Exchange as well?”

The Toy & Game Exchange will work similarly to how the clothing exchange works, Zia expanded: “Swappers can bring up to ten good condition items and will exchange these for credits for another object at the event.

“Thus parents can bring toys for a 4-year-old and exchange them for a 7-year-old’s and vice versa. Any credits left can be rolled over to the next exchange.

“Entry will be just £2. I think £2 for up to ten ‘new to you’ toy and games is attractive for those living on a budget.”

Held at Wrexham Clothing Exchange venue at Eagles Meadow, Lle Hapus, a spokesman for the venue stated: ‘It’s wonderful how our volunteers are coming up with their own ideas, we’re more than happy to support Alison and Zia in making their initiative a success.

“As we are opposite the Playground, we’ll be opening the café for this, offering free squash and if it’s sunny we’ll be offering discounted ice-creams too.

Alison added: “we are really thankful to those who have offered us support such as Bradley Village Community Hall, Wrexham Clothing Exchange, the Lle Hapus Venue, our volunteers, and everyone else who has offered their support.

The Toy and Game Exchange will run tomorrow (Saturday 27 May) 11 am-2 pm
