This morning we were contacted saying a fire had broken out on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, specifically Caparo Wire on Ash Road North.

Chris Lawlor told us he saw two fire engines and three police cars, with two more fire officer cars heading towards the situation.

The Fire services told us they were called out at 9:58am due to an acetylene cylinder catching fire in a welding area of a factory.

Three appliances , two from Wrexham and one from Johnstown were dispatched.

The fire was brought under control, however due to the nature of heated up cylinders a cooling procedure needs to occur which is ongoing. Cooling and safety checks are also being carried out to other gas canisters nearby.

Factory workers were evacuated and there are no reports of injuries.
