Wrexham Hits 27.4C – Heatwave Arrives?

Today Wrexham.com’s very own weather station recorded a peak of 27.4C at 2:10pm.

Down the road in Chester a peak of 26.6C was recorded at 1:45pm, making Wrexham the place to be for sun seekers!

The BBC weather service measured a rounded 24C for Wrexham, however as they use figures produced by a station in Hawarden they are hardly useful for Wrexhamites. Hawarden is around 10 miles away and much closer to the cooling coast, so it is obvious why wrexham weather types have been crying out for some proper local data!

We obviously believe in Wrexham, so we didnt understand why we had to rely on incorrect data for our town pulled from somewhere else! As a result, we invested and now operate one of these:

The kit we use - a Davis Vantage Pro 2 with WeatherLinkIP

Our weather station automatically tweets every ten minutes to @wrexhamweather (follow if you want, but be warned it does update every 10mins 24/7!) however we give three updates a day to our main @wrexham twitter account. These are 8am , Midday and 8pm .

All data is recorded and logged, and we have a very very basic graphing system on our Wrexham Weather page to show historic data.

As they say a picture is worth 1000 words, here is our own Wrexham Webcam snapshot showing todays beautiful blue sky:
