With the second general election in two years now just weeks away, we will be live streaming two separate debates for the Wrexham and Clwyd South candidates on the evening of Tuesday 30th May.

At the time of writing we have indications from three of the four Wrexham candidates that they will be taking part, and four out of the five Clwyd South candidates – we hope for a full set!

The debate will be ‘closed‘/ not open to the public in terms of a live audience. However the aim is several thousand more people will view it online than perhaps a traditional hall setting would allow (and from the comfort of your own home via the powers of the internet!) – so to answer questions we are already being emailed, there are no tickets available.

Our aim is to give candidates a platform to publicise their points of view and illustrate differences from their competitors – along with hopefully informing possible voters and help them make a choice ahead of polling day on Thursday June 8th.

We have explored several options and have created a plan which we are confident should achieve the aims in a wonderful setting.

Our aim is to encourage a debate rather than a Q&A / joint press conference. To achieve this we will ask a handful of starter questions to candidates and we are inviting Wrexham.com readers to help provide those!

We are planning our usual down-the-line balance, however we will not be issuing strict per-second limits for answers to hopefully keep things more fluid. We have limited time due to covering both constituencies but will try and squeeze as much in as we can.

We encourage those who wish to speak up for Wrexham or Clwyd South to speak up in the debate! We also have a written Q&A active, accessible via the sidebar links.
