William Aston Hall confirms it will reopen after “rumour” the venue had entered administration
The William Aston Hall has moved to address a “rumour” that it was closing.
It comes amid concern that the venue, located in Wrexham Glyndwr University, was entering administration.
Earlier today one resident who had contacted a ticketing company for a refund for a recently postponed Jason Manford show was told that “The William Aston Hall is part of VMS Ltd 2011 which has entered administration” in a message signed off by insolvency practitioners Antony Batty”
However at the has since been confirmed that this is not the case, and that the William Aston Hall is “neither in administration, nor intending to go into administration.”
In a series of tweets, the William Aston Hall, said: “We have been made aware of a rumour that the William Aston Hall is going into administration.”
“We can confirm that the William Aston Hall is neither in administration, nor intending to go into administration.”
“The misunderstanding was caused by an unauthorised message from our ticketing agent who has since apologised.”
“The pandemic has obviously had an impact on the business and staff are currently furloughed.”
“We are very much continuing to programme new shows and rearrange existing shows for a time when it is safe for us to reopen the venue safely.”
“Stay safe and we hope to see you soon.”
The venue has been closed since March when the pandemic saw the abrupt end to all live events and entertainment.
Earlier this year it was announced that two companies operated by promoter and venue management company, VMS Live, were at risk after entering administration.
The remaining four companies are still under the control of the directors.
