Wrexham Inspector Rob Stevenson has detailed how three people have been arrested following the use of a ‘stinger’. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning with a vehicle “coming to a safe stop, just off the Kingsmill Road”.

The full update is as usual, below:

For those avid police vehicle spotters out there, you have been in for a treat over the past 24 hours in Wrexham 👀 .

We have been supported by our colleagues from roads policing 🚔 and other departments as they wanted to join in with our game of hide and seek with Mr Povey. He has now been wanted for too long for his recall to prison! For those of you who have been visited by my officers looking for Harry, thank you for your hospitality 👍🏽, and remember – the sooner he’s found, the sooner we can leave you in peace 🙂.

We had a potential sighting of Harry today, near to HMP Berwyn. Was it him? Was he contemplating handing himself in? Or was he just scoping or which room with a view he’d prefer? 🤷🏼‍♂️

✅ Some good news from the courts – the male who breached his Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) received an instant 28 days custodial sentence – not bad for a first breach of a civil order. This is a real powerful piece of legislation that offers safeguarding to those who are subject to domestic violence. Don’t suffer in silence gives us a call or reach out for support

In other matters, here what’s gone down in the past 24 hours.

🏡 10.15 – Report of damage to a fence in the area of Pentre Gwyn – Ringdoor bell footage in the area is being checked to identify potential suspects.

🚓 12.42 – Vehicle stopped by our colleagues on the Interceptor team, resulting in it being seized for no insurance.

🍺 15.26 –Asda reported a male had stolen alcohol and body spray. He was arrested, charged and remanded to court – I wonder if the body spray was to impress the Magistrates with the “Lynx’s effect”?

🆒 15.28 – Theft of a chiller from catering van near to Berse Road.

🧱 23.42 – We were called to report of an incident between three female adults, one was politely asked to leave, which she did. Unfortunately, she returned a short time later and is reported to have thrown a brick through a window. She was arrested and spent the night in a small room with re-enforced windows.

🚔 01.37 – A man from the Wrexham Rural policing area regrettably didn’t get the memo about us having additional traffic officers in the area, whoopsie – my bad! 😬 He foolishly decided not to stop for our advance trained drivers, as he was leaving the city centre. A local response Sergeant successfully deployed a stinger (image above) resulting in the vehicle coming to a safe stop, just off the Kingsmill Road. It soon took the wind out of his sails – or at least the air out of his tyres. The driver and two passengers were arrested for enquiries to be conducted over night.

Like our much-loved regular city Inspector Luke, this update is short and sweet! 🤪
