A5 Reopens Following ‘Six Vehicle’ Collision

UPDATE: The A5 at Chirk has reopened both ways following this afternoon’s earlier collision.

ORIGINAL: A multiple vehicle collision has closed the A5 in Chirk this afternoon.

The collision took place at around 5pm this evening between the A483 (Halton Roundabout) and B5070 Chirk Road / Station Road (Gledrid Roundabout).

As a result of the collision the A5 is closed both ways and traffic is being diverted through Chirk.

There are already long delays in the area, with traffic backing up back Ruabon. For those travelling into Wrexham queues are backing up to Gobowen.
