The deadline for standing in the General Election passed at 4pm, and there are seven people looking for your vote!

Just before 5pm this afternoon Wrexham Council issued the below document listing those standing, their addresses and those who nominated them including the formal Proposer and Seconders.

Those standing are:

  • Andrew Atkinson, Welsh Conservative Party
  • Brian Edwards, Independent
  • Carrie Harper, Plaid Cymru – The Party of Wales
  • Ian Lucas, Welsh Labour
  • David Munnerly, Green Party
  • Niall Plevin-Kelly, U K Independence Party
  • Rob Walsh, Welsh Liberal Democrats

Each candidate has also lodged a £500 deposit, that could be lost if they do not get sufficient votes.

Wrexham.com’s coverage will be continuing in the run up to the election but for now we would encourage all who have not to register to vote! Currently 50,745 people in the Wrexham constituency are registered to vote.

Important Dates:

  • The deadline to register to vote: Monday 20 April 2015
  • Deadline to apply for a postal vote: 5pm Tuesday 21 April 2015
  • Deadline to apply for a proxy vote: 5pm Tuesday 28 April 2015
