‘Widespread’ Power Outages Across Wrexham

Update: We are told power supplies have been restored, however several ‘blips’ have been reported late into the evening.

There is a power outage affecting a large area of Wrexham this evening, with others experiencing flickers earlier.

The fault was reported shortly after 8:30pm, with a several properties experiencing a brief power outage. However a number of residents across Gwersyllt, Stansty and The Fairways losing electricity altogether.

Other areas experiences brown outs or flickering in the supply without a full outage.

Details published on the SP Energy Networks website state that the power cut has been caused by a ‘supply interruption in the LL11 area of Wrexham’.

SP Energy have said: “This has been caused by a fault on our network and is affecting a large number of properties in a widespread area.

“We will attempt to reset the network to restore your supply remotely. Our Engineers have been dispatched and will work to restore your electricity supply by 10.30PM”
