Pavement parking warning for motorists in Wrexham

Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area

Motorists who park on pavements in Wrexham are being urged to “know the law and show respect” to other road users.

Pavement parking has been a long-running issue across parts of Wrexham, particularly at schools at drop off / pick up times and near the Stok Cae Ras on matchdays.

NWP Wrexham Rural have taken to social media to remind drivers that parking on pavements can lead to fines if it causes an obstruction.

In a statement NWP Wrexham Rural said: “In Wrexham and surrounding villages, parking on pavements can cause significant problems for pedestrians, particularly those with disabilities, parents with prams, and the elderly.

“Parking on pavements can lead to fines if it causes an obstruction.

“Anyone found to be parking in a manner that causes an obstruction or difficulty for other road users be they drivers, riders or pedestrians may find themselves the recipient of a fine through the post.

“When parking, please think about the impact on others. Leave enough space for pedestrians to pass safely.

“Avoid fines and inconvenience: Park responsibly to help keep our streets safe and accessible for everyone.”
