A rescue operation was carried out in Wrexham today after a person was injured.

Members from the North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) were called to assist the Welsh Ambulance Service with the incident, in Brynteg at 11am this morning.

In a statement NEWSAR said: “One of our own team members was there in his “day job” as a paramedic, which meant we had grid references for the casualty location and the meeting point, plus an evacuation route, all worked out before the rest of us got there.

“Team members packaged the casualty on our wheeled stretcher which then made the walk out to the road straightforward.

“It’s not exactly “mountains” but you never know where our skills and equipment might prove useful for easier evacuations.”
