A change of use application is before the Council’s planning department to convert an Eagles Meadow shop into a ‘Restaurant/Cafe’.

The planning application is for Units B3 and B4 in Eagles Meadow, which going by plans online appear to be the former Superdrug and Listers stores.

Oddly the planning application states ‘the proposal will not see a significant increase in the number of users’ – referring to car park spaces. If there was to be an increase of users the documents state additional parking could be required.

The application names Merlin UK Venture Property SARL as the owners of Eagles Meadow. A SARL is similar to a private limited company as you would find in the UK, and there are similarly named “Merlin UK Property Venture” SARL’s 1 , 2 and 3 with addresses in Luxembourg. In other reports referring to Eagles Meadow it appears 1 is the owner of the site – although the document submitted to the council does not specify this.
