New Housing Developments Within Wrexham County Borough

Wrexham Council is announcing several new housing developments in the County Borough, and land acquisition in the town centre.

The Council has issued a media release noting several new developments and transactions to enable ‘regeneration’, as detailed below:

  • Whitegate Road: Has recently been transferred over to North Wales Housing with development commenced to build 12 units of Social Housing.
  • Whalleys Way, Plas Madoc: Recently transferred over to Wales and West Housing. Development has commenced to build 14 Units of Social Housing.
  • Wrexham County Borough Council has acquired the vacant Bridge Street site from the Welsh Government in April 2015 to take forward as a regeneration development opportunity site in 2015/16 that also supports the affordable housing project. Formal marketing will take place in Summer 2015 seeking mixed use development interest to support the vibrancy of the town centre as part of the emerging Town Centre Master Plan will be developed as part of the New Town Centre Masterplan.
  • Rivulet Road: Phase II has recently been passed for grant funding by the Welsh Government and development has commenced to build 50 x 1 & 2 bed apartments.
  • Mountain Street, Rhos: Recently completed and 8 families have been housed in brand new homes.
  • Bon Wen, Bridge Street, Rhos: 11 units of 1, 2 and 3 bed units – Development started on site on March 15th and will be completed in early 2016.
  • Glan Gorse, Caia Park: 23 Units of 1, 2 and 3 bed units will be completed in July.
