More than 100 festive stalls to fill the town on Thursday with the return of the Victorian Christmas Market
More than 100 stalls selling festive food and gifts are to fill the town centre this week with the highly anticipated return of the Victorian Christmas Market.
Taking place from midday until 8pm on Thursday 9 December the event is expected to attract thousands of people to the town throughout the day.
It will be the first time the Victorian Christmas Market has taken place since 2019, with last year’s event cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
More than 100 stalls spanning from Queens Square to the grounds of St Giles Church will be on offer for visitors to browse, with a huge selection of festive gifts and treats available.
Hot food and drinks will also be on sale, including German sausages, mince pies, mulled wine and hot chestnuts.
Keep an eye out as well for Victorian street entertainers who will be about to entertain the crowds. Visitors can also enjoy traditional rides and stalls.
Inside the St Giles there will be more stalls and refreshments, music and carols and many of the thousands of visitors are so captivated by their surroundings that they take an opportunity to just sit and soak up the atmosphere for a while.
A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “What makes this market really special is that it covers such a varied route and spills over into the beautiful parish church of St Giles – a real haven of warmth on a cold winter’s evening.
“It’s an event not to be missed and stall holders will be pleased to see many visitors new and old to the event.
“Don’t forget the date December 9 2021 between 12 noon and 8 pm.”
