Monthly collections for garden waste are set to return during the winter months.

The changes were introduced two years ago after a decision made by executive board members to reduce the service due to a drop in demand and in a bid to save money.

The monthly service between December 2021 and February 2022 is a reduction on the current two-weekly collection for those who pay to have their garden waste collected throughout the rest of the year.

Normal fortnightly collections will resume in March 2022.

Wrexham Council have also released the new bin and recycling collection calendars for the next 12 months.

They can be viewed and downloaded from the Wrexham Council website.

The new bin and recycling collection calendars for the next 12 months have been released. They can be viewed and downloaded on the Wrexham Council website.

There will be no collections on December 27 or 28 this year, although affected residents will be able to put extra recycling and food waste out the following week.

Cllr David A. Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “It’s important for us to make sure residents are aware they can access their bin and recycling collection calendar easily online.

“It’s a really simple way to see your collection information, and it can save you from missing bin collections.

“If you haven’t already done so, have a quick look at your calendar on wrexham.gov.uk/bins – it won’t take much of your time at all.”

If you don’t want to be checking your calendar every week you can sign up for email alerts instead, which will be sent the day before your collection day to remind you to put your bin out and which bin to put out.
