A man was found to be in in possession of cash, controlled drugs and a suspiciously two phones following a police foot chase in town yesterday.

The incident was provided as part of Wrexham Town Inspector Luke Hughes’ daily policing update for Monday 1 August.

Insp Hughes said:

I`m typing this at 7:30am whilst sat in an unnamed fast food restaurant on the A55, I’m on my way to HQ Colwyn bay having been invited to take part in a stake holder panel as part of the process to recruit / promote our new Chief Constable.

I’m privileged and looking forward to an interesting day. Of course a day out deserves a treat, I’m not sure where my next meal will be so I’m forcing myself to have a sausage & egg muffin and obligatory hash brown… a rare day out of the office…

Another steady day across WX and as I type this only one person in custody, arrested for causing damage, it’s a male that needs help as much as punishment, so full wrap around will be put in place.

We also had some good proactive work take placed yesterday and quite early on too when our ever alert CCTV colleagues noted a suspicious game of pass the parcel taking place on Yorke street, officers made their way and after a brief foot chase a male was located in possession of cash, controlled drugs and a suspiciously two phones.

I wonder what he uses the other one for… he was arrested on suspicious of being possession with intent to supply drugs… enquires are ongoing. Ultimately a game of pass the parcel that he lost…

Sgt Anita Hickish & Alys Hanson will be looking after you today and Sgt Sam Cullen on nights, if you need us I can assure you we will be there for you, if you’re naughty watch your back, they are relentless.

So onto the review, 63 calls for service, amazing what a bit of sun can do.

Steady morning until 11:40hrs: Male arrested for supply (as above)

12:05hrs: Officers attend the sudden death of an adult male – no suspicious circumstances – RIP

12:52hrs: Missing person report – we have numerous reports daily, often it is a person in their teens who hasn’t come home as planned, occasionally a very young child or elderly person, each missing episode is graded on the perceived risk posed to them by environmental factors or situations that they may put themselves in.

13:26hrs: Further issues at Prices lanes allotments, it appears that over the weekend two persons where caught in the poly tunnels at the location.

NPT will be doing some work around this and discussing the issues with those with allotments, is it spiteful greedy thief, or someone who simply can’t afford food. I’ll keep an open mind for now.

14:00hrs: Missing 14 year old female reported. Returned at 21:30hrs.

14:44hrs: Call from town centre bank concerns raised regarding a large transaction being made by a female in attendance and that this may be a scam and the female vulnerable.

Officers attend, money not transferred and follow up work ongoing. I have to say that the banks are very good at present, certainly with those who physically attend.

15:26hrs: My peace and quiet is broken by a raised voices from Llwyn Isaf, I can’t work out what is being said but its two rather unpleasant shouty people. I frown and look at of the window as I see who officers walking across and who provide suitable words of advice, why do people argue with each other, if you don’t like them, just ignore them.

15:29hrs: Two vehicle RTC – Bradley road – no injuries reported.

17:28hrs: Two motor bikes driving like fools on Kingsmill road – I wonder if our recently stolen bike? Area search negative – enquiries ongoing.

19:19hrs: Third missing person report, detail taken and enquiries commenced.

22:04hrs: Report of a male with an injury to his leg, officers respond as the reports suggest significant blood loss, it is apparent that the male has come into contact with a shop window, the window breaking and causing the injury.

Priority is medical, the injury appears serious. Follow up will be conducted but initial enquiries confirm no third party involvement.

Breakfast finished and off to HQ, have a great day all and speak soon.
