Mains Burst Affecting Acrefair & Plas Madoc This Evening

Three water issues hit the area this evening.

MIDNIGHT UPDATES:

“The mains leak affecting the Acrefair, Plas Madoc and the surrounding area, has now been repaired however this and the surrounding area may be experiencing discoloured water as a result of the earlier emergency isolation. Whilst unsightly ,the discoloured water is unlikely to be harmful to health. If this occurs, please run your kitchen cold tap until the water clears.”

“The mains leak outside Ty Newydd, Gwynfryn has now been repaired however this and the surrounding area may be experiencing discoloured water as a result of the earlier emergency isolation.”

“Dee valley water engineers are in the process of repairing a mains burst causing an unplanned interruption to the water supply resulting in poor pressure and in some cases no water, which is affecting the following area(s):Heol Maelor and the surrounding area in Coedpoeth.”

Dee Valley Water has said: “Dee valley water engineers are in the process of repairing a mains burst causing an unplanned interruption to the water supply resulting in poor pressure and in some cases no water, which is affecting the following area(s):Acrefair and Plas Madoc and the surrounding area.

“We are using all our resources to return the supply back to normal and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused”

The usual additional advice is stated: “Once your supply returns you may notice some discolouration or milky like water, we are flushing the mains to alleviate the problem, whilst unsightly, is unlikely to be harmful to health.

“If this occurs, please run your kitchen cold tap until the water clears.”

There is also an ongoing issue on Heol Maelor in Coedpoeth involving a water leak.
