Labour Top Wrexham Straw Poll A Week Away From Election Day

Our entirely unscientific poll shows Labour ahead in Wrexham with people due to visit polling stations in a week.

We conducted our usual style election straw poll between 9am and 11:30am asking a simple question, who, if you were voting tomorrow would you vote for?

Of course polls such of these are lacking the segmentation and pre-qualification elements of ‘proper’ polls so treat it accordingly. The audience in theory was the self selecting readership relevant to the Wrexham area.

On May 16th we ran a similar poll with a few other options that at the time had Labour sneaking a lead (full results viewable here) however today’s version has them well ahead – but still 6% of respondents were unsure where to place the X.

As happened a couple of weeks ago the overall distribution of votes did not change too much as the volume of votes grew.

Last night we referenced the first constituency data release by YouGov, that was leaning towards a Labour win, and as we created the above graph the latest ITV Wales poll was also released specific to Wales:

Polling day is Thursday 8th – make sure you, your friends and family all go out and vote!
