Join the fun and celebrate Playday in Wrexham this week!
Thousands are set to visit the city centre this week and enjoy an afternoon of fun and games at Playday.
The event, on Wednesday 7 August, encourages children and families to get together and have a great time whilst getting wet and messy in the process!
There will be lots for people to enjoy on the day, including the return of the popular giant sandpit on Queens Square!
Also on offer on Llwyn Isaf will be den building, the chance to take on the obstacle course, play the floor is lava, art, games and of course lots of water!
Playday is for people of all ages including babies and toddlers, older children, teenagers, parents, professionals and grandparents and you’re all invited to join in this free and playful event.
All you need to bring is a playful mood and some clothes you don’t mind getting wet and messy.
The weather is also set to be dry and sunny so why not make a day of it and bring a picnic!
Cllr Phil Wynn, Lead Member for Education, said, “Playday is the fun event of the year in the city centre which is completely taken over by young people and their families.
“Everyone gets involved and has a great time regardless of the weather and young people have a safe place and time to play.”
The aim of this event is to highlight children’s right to play, encouraging people to recognise the value of playing to children, their families and their local communities.
In doing this Wrexham’s Playday event is part of the commitment to ensure all children across the county borough have enough time, space and permission to play.
Playday will take place on Queens Square and Llwyn Isaf on Wednesday 7 August between midday and 4pm.
