Police have launched an investigation following a robbery at a shop in Pen Y Bryn over the weekend.

Officers were called to the incident at 10am on Sunday 5 September following reports a male had entered the building and demanded cash.

Wrexham Town Inspector Luke Hughes said: “Soon after this incident was reported a male has been struck on Salop Road having ridden his bike into the path of a vehicle.

“We are not looking for anyone else in relation to the earlier incident and the road has now re-opened.”

As we reported yesterday the road was closed for several hours yesterday while emergency services attended the scene.

An appeal was later issued following a collision between a pedal cyclist and a Nissan XTrail at 10:30am.

The male cyclist sustained injuries as a result of the collision.

Anyone who has any further information on the incident is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number Z131316.
