Wrexham.com received a cryptic clue in an e-mail from Wrexham County Borough Council this morning.

The above picture was attached with only the words “The Countdown Begins…” contained within the mysterious message.

Our eagle eyed @wrexham followers have already been on the case trying to guess what it could mean.

The majority of people have suggested that it could be to do with the London 2012 Olympics due to the similarity in fonts used.

Wrexham.com follower Richard Ellis (@wrecsile) was the first to make the connection, he said: “Looks like the Olympics font…”

This would appear to be a good guess with Wrexham set to host the Lesotho Olympics team’s pre-games training camp.

Claire Howells (@claireclh) also suggested it could signal the countdown to the Olympic Torch passing through Wrexham on 30th May on its route around the UK.

The only other suggestion we’ve had so far came from Simon Cooke (@MR51CUK) who said that it might be to do with bringing Rugby League to life in 2013, which with the town hosting two Rugby League World Cup games in 2013 is also another credible guess.

If you have any ideas as to what the clue could mean then leave your guess in the comment box below.
