Fire crews have been tackling a large fire which broke out at a barn in Gresford throughout the night.

Shortly before midnight last night there were several reports that a large fire could be seen from the Summerhill area of Wrexham.

Initially it was thought that the blaze was coming from the Pandy area – however it has since been confirmed that there was a fire in a barn on the old Wrexham Road, Gresford.

Three crews from Wrexham attended the incident just before midnight – however as of this morning, dampening down of bales of hay is continuing.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
