Fire crews were called to a fire in the early hours of this morning above Santander Bank on Wrexham’s Regent Street.

The whole of Regent Street was blocked off by police as two fire engines and an aerial appliance were used to tackled the fire in a cavity wall.

Wrexham.com follower @jackowxm alerted us to the incident which started at 12.15am and sent in the pictures above and below.

When we visited the scene this morning Santander was open for business as usual.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said that at present the cause of the fire is unknown.

Fire crews use a ladder to reach the fire above Santander.
