An ‘electrical fault’ caused a vehicle to be completely destroyed in a fire this afternoon.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident in the Penycae area of Wrexham at 3:32pm this afternoon.

One crew from Wrexham attended the scene and one breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the blaze.

The car was completely destroyed as a result of the fire.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the vehicle’s cigarette lighter.
