The Christmas Grotto at Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre in Wrexham is now open!

Shoppers called into the new festive attraction over the weekend, where they were delighted to meet Santa and to receive a special gift ahead of the big day.

The grotto has been specially created by the Eagles Meadow team, transforming a unit on site into a “magical Christmas wonderland”

People can meet and greet, with a festive treat, at the grotto during the next two weekends (10th and 11th December plus 17th and 18th December, 11.30am-3.30pm), followed by Thursday, 22nd December and Friday, 23rd December (11.30am-3pm).

There will also be some additional Christmas entertainment to help your magical moments even more special

Santa is accompanied by his elves to bring cheer to people visiting the site which boasts a superb collection of shops, cafes and attractions, the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping.

Clogau and The Entertainer at Eagles Meadow have kindly donated some Christmas goodies for everyone to enjoy.

It follows on from the recent Wrexham Christmas Lights Switch on, which saw stars including Abz Love from 5ive, Passmore, Redd and others performing to the crowds in Eagles Meadow.

Shopping Centre Manager Josh Price said: “We have lots of festive fun for shoppers at Eagles Meadow this Christmas.

“It’s the perfect place to be this December whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for family or loved ones, or looking to relax with something to eat, a visit to the cinema or some bowling.

“The huge Christmas tree we have here and the many festive decorations add to the atmosphere, and it has been great seeing so many families meeting Santa at our grotto.”

No booking is required for the Eagles Meadow Christmas grotto but entry will be on a first-come-first-served basis

Queues will be closing at 3pm on 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th December, and at 2.30pm on 22nd and 23rd December. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Please inform a member of the Eagles Meadow team if your children have any food allergies.

A spokesperson added, “An integral part of Wrexham city centre, Eagles Meadow offers something for everyone with great restaurants, shopping and leisure, all in one place.

“At Eagles Meadow, you’ll find a large choice of popular high street names including Marks & Spencer, Boots, Next and River Island as well as a selection of unique independent stores.

“Shop until you drop and then relax and refuel in one of the great cafés or restaurants such as Nando’s, Subway and Costa Coffee before heading to the 8 screen Odeon Cinema or challenging friends and family at Tenpin.”
