A broken down train in Shotton is causing delays of up to an hour for passengers travelling from Wrexham.

Buses are currently replacing trains for those travelling between Wrexham General and Bidston – extending journey times by up to an hour.

The Arriva Trains website states: “Road replacement transport has been sourced. Pat’s Coaches will operate 7 coaches. These will run in both directions, between Wrexham and Bidston. Provisional ETA for first buses to arrive is 17:00.

“Bus arrival and running times will be dependant on seasonal road traffic congestion. Please allow at least 60 minutes extra for travel times. Additional buses continue to be sourced to provide extra capacity.”

Delays are expected to continue until 7:45pm.
