One of Wrexham’s longest serving independent businesses is preparing for the grand opening of its new store tomorrow morning.

After thirty years of trading in the People’s Market, Beauty Box will open the doors to its new premises on Bank Street at 9am tomorrow morning (Saturday 7th January).

It was all hands on deck this afternoon when Wrexham.com visited the new store this afternoon, with a team of volunteers and staff working around the clock to make sure the new Beauty Box was ready for its grand opening.

The move comes as the main hall in the People’s Market closes to make way for the Arts and Cultural Hub / Market space to begin.

Below is a taster of what the new store looks like. Beauty Box opens its new store on Bank Street tomorrow morning at 9am – make sure you pop along!

Wrexham.com has this detail on where traders in the People’s Market are moving / have moved to based on seeing a sign in the doorway while filming earlier today.

We had asked Wrexham Council several times in various ways to be kept up to date with that detail since it was announced that the main market hall was to close while redevelopment works took place.

We are told a handful of printouts were circulated to the doors of the markets around lunchtime today, there is currently no copies that we are aware of elsewhere. No details of where traders are now situated have been placed on the Council’s website, nor their Twitter or Facebook pages.

The information does not appear to have been circulated to local media either.

The main hall of the People’s Market closed officially at 5:07pm this afternoon – however it is important to stress that the stores in the arcade on the Chester Street entrance are open and will remain trading at the People’s Market during the duration of the Arts Hub works – with it appearing the carpet shop will remain open inside the hall for a few weeks as their new shop is not ready.

The detail on the doors is very easy to miss, as the following picture shows – there is also a close up image of the details of where you can now find the market traders in their new locations.
