Yesterday evening police attended a serious incident on Montgomery Road in Wrexham.

It is locally reported that an elderly male and a female were attacked at a house on Montgomery Road.

Police and an ambulance were seen attending, with members of armed police also seen in the area.

Police forensic teams were seen leaving just before 1am today, with police searches ongoing.

One local resident told us “One house was sealed off with yellow tape all around it, lots of police and armed response nearby”.

Another told us they saw one woman being taken to hospital.

Montgomery Road is the road that runs between Holt Road and the Queensway sports centre, ‘behind’ Tesco.

11am Update: We have been in touch with the police who confirm they were called to a disturbance at an address in Montgomery Road Wrexham at 10:17pm last night.

They have told us “A man was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injury. A man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding. Police are investigating.”

Rumours of deaths, arrests for attempted murder, plus national coverage (including the incident being reported on Sky News) have been ‘doing the rounds’ on social media however are untrue.

Another local police source indicated that rumours of baseball bats were also without foundation.
