‘All Age’ Plas Madoc Fanzone Is A Go After Hectic 24 Hours
The Fanzone at Plas Madoc Leisure centre is confirmed for Wednesday night after being organised inside the last 24 hours.
This evening organisers told us: “We are all set for Wednesday! We do have some rules which will govern the centre which have been laid down by the Police, but bring you own drink and have a good time, the whole family (all ages) are welcome!”
After the call for resources earlier today several local firms and people stepped up to help.
Organisers said: “Thanks to the DTCC Wrexham (The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation) who have pledged to support both the Central Station FanZone and ourselves, we also would like to thank Amberon Wrexham who have provided signage and barriers for the event.
“The last 24 hours have been hectic, we were disappointed that the people of wrexham were going to miss out on a Fanzone atmosphere for the big game on wednesday. We decided as a team to float the idea of a Plas Madoc FanZone in our Sports Hall after an amazing response from local people we set about planning the event which involved arranging equipment, funding, staffing aswell as notifying emergency services.
“The Hall is well equipped for the event with a projected screen covering 18ft/18ft (We hope one of the biggest screens showing the game in the area!) we also have surround sound to really get that matchday atmosphere, there will be a food stand selling a variety of non alcoholic drinks and snacks.
“Those wanting alcohol are welcomed to bring their own (Cans only no glass). We hope the event will cater to all ages as everyone turns out to watch an historic match for Wales! We’ve even had the suggestion of changing our Sports Hall to The Sports Hal (Robson Kanu!).”
