The A539 Wrexham Road has been closed in Overton after a two car crash took place at around 5pm today.

Four people were injured in the crash, two seriously and have been taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Local reports have suggested that the roofs of both vehicles had to be cut off to free passengers.

Police, fire crews and ambulances are all on scene.

The accident is believed to have taken place next to Bryn Y Pys Park in Overton.

Police have closed off the A539 Wrexham Road from Turning Street to Argoed Lane.

Argoed Lane (a narrow country lane) is said to be heaving as rush hour traffic hits the roads.
